Ireland's capital city Dublin was the 17th city to implement a public bicycle rental scheme. At its launch in 2009, the scheme had 450 bicyles and 40 stations. By May 2011, two million journeys had been made, and plans are now afoot to expand to 5,000 bicyles and 300 stations.
