Overview

Earth Hour LIVE 2024 aired on Channel 82 and greenrock.org earlier tonight from 6:30pm to Lights Out at 8:30pm.  The annual 2 hour program featured conversations with Health Coach and Om Juicery Owner Preston James about living in harmony with nature, Renown Economics Educator Craig Simmons about Donut Economics, Co-CEO of Take Five Catering Stefan Bourchardt about waste reduction strategies for large events, and Agronomist Omari Dill about achieving sustainability from an ecological perspective.  The program also included official highlights from Earth Hour 2023, Earth Hour Bermuda flashbacks from 2015 and 2019, and an intriguing presentation from Renegade Economist Kate Raworth on Donut Economics. 

Earth Hour Live will be broadcast on Channel 82 and our website, greenrock.org.

Every year, we countdown together across the globe to celebrate Earth Hour and take one iconic action: switch off the lights. But it is so much more than that. It is a symbol of unity. It is a symbol of hope. It is a demonstration of the power of collective action for our future and the planet's. Join us in creating the Biggest Hour for Earth on 23rd March - switch off your lights and spend 60 minutes doing something positive for our planet!

6:00pm Children's activities, including face painting, bouncy castle and giant Jenga City Hall Lawn
6:00pm – 7:20pm Surviving Progress, an acclaimed documentary featuring interviews with film director Martin Scorcese, anthropologist Jane Goodall and physicist Stephen Hawking Earl Cameron Theatre,

6:00pm-7:30pm Reading corner - Bermuda National Library hosts a reading to enlighten children through fun stories about how they can do their part to conserve energy and minimize their waste  City Hall
6:45pm Bermuda Yoga and Horizon Health yoga and Pilates classes City Hall Lawn
7:30pm Rebecca Faulkenberry and Reeve Carney, stars of Broadway's Spider-Man:Turn Off the Dark City Hall Lawn
