A new study of Bermuda's offshore wind has concluded that it is a viable source of renewable energy for Bermuda.
The report states "The results from our wind energy model show that offshore wind energy is an economically viable option. Our calculated LCOE of $0.261/kWh is significantly lower than the price of electricity paid by consumers. A demonstration of our spatial analysis model shows that, for our chosen set parameters, it is possible to site a 100 MW wind farm on the Bermuda platform with minimal risk to marine habitat and fisheries."
